Caileigh comes to Alaska

Wildfires, beached humpbacks, and Hatcher Passs hikes have filled our days with great Alaskan memories. Next will be Scampin' in the rain starting tomorrow.
We are off to a day of fun, but wanted to share some of the pics from the visit thus far...

View of McHugh Creek Fire from Kincaid Beach- smoke filling entrance of Turnagain Arm

 Beached Humpback Whale at Kincaid
Fascinating.

Caileigh spent the year studying whales at her school and during her 3rd grade. Humpbacks were one of her specific whales she studied. She taught me a lot about this beautiful creature on this day that was filled with many emotions, smells and visual "wow's!"

Hike to April Bowl at Hatcher Pass. Caileigh is Scottish/American and so this terrain is very familiar to her and Anne. We all had flashbacks to hiking the West Highland Way!

SNOW!

Due to wind changes, the McHugh Fire smoke entered the Anchorage Bowl and kept us in and Caileigh made the most delicious BREAKFAST SREAD.

She did it all!
Homefries and eggs to order.
Her fruit plate is awesome!

Puzzle time with a lab at our feet!

But as soon as guitar was being played, our lab moved to the foot of the musician

Baking with neighbors for a delicious dessert.
We have been spoiled with a real cook in the house!

We have played many rounds of Five Crowns- a great card game!

Thanks Caileigh and Anne for filling our house with great company, good food and plans of fun and adventures.

Scamping up north starts tomorrow!
