Tea Spot, Magic Line and Moe's Canyon

Maps often can tell you all you need to know in a day. This trip has been all about maps. We start our day with maps. We end our days with maps.

We also have been starting our days with a reading from a book called Your Daily Rock-by Patti Digh. Today's reading was about intentions. It encouraged the reader to make decisions based on one's intentions, not external circumstances.

It was true for us. The past few days have been guided by just that... our shared intentions.
Recent circumstances of getting lost, looping the same set of switchbacks 3 times or starting at the wrong trail head haven't swayed our intentions. Each day has been personally fulfilling for each of us and not driven by external circumstances.

 The Tea Spot loop
Lodge pole pines were unique and made for wonderful single track vistas

Our home for 5 days in Kimberely

Evening soaks down at the river

Another set of trails for a new day. These were trails up at the nordic center which sit right next to the Ski Resort. The single track trails are comfortably partnered in with the winter groomers.

We took locals' advice most days when choosing where to hike and today it guided us IN on Magic line and OUT the Moe's Canyon Trail. It was wonderful. Huge Larch at the base of the canyon and rock falls bordering the canyon all the way through.

Moe's canyon - a favorite hike for all locals

This little town of Kimberly is a hidden gem and so are my mom and sister!

It'll be interesting to see if you experience a different vibe once you get into the U.S. of A. Maybe the 3 of you can catch some NASCAR?
