Why do you go to Whitehorse for mtn biking?

 …because we can drive there
...because the weather in the Yukon is hot and dry (most of the time)
... because it is fun to try other people's trail networks and see how they build their trails

 ...because biking is fun

...because there are fabulous single track trails that wind through gorgeous terrain
...because I  have experiences that get me out of my comfort zone
...because it is all downhill, except for the uphill
...because the trails are challenging and yet relaxing and have vistas that never disappoint

...because there are always new trails to ride

...because it feels different from Ak trails
…because I really enjoy crushing husband on the uphills
…because Whitehorse is a really great town and has so much play and personality all wrapped in one.
…because biking for a week can only make one feel stronger
…because  each day entails just two decisions-
one, what to eat?
two, where to ride?

So to answer  to the question
Why do you go to Whitehorse for mtn biking each year?

We drive 14.5 hours on the Alaska Highway to Mtn bike each day in Whitehorse and camp out for the week because we can and we are so thankful we can!

For all those who are headed that way this month- enjoy.
For all those debating the trip, please be in touch we would love to share info and for those who live in the East and just read this as entertainment, thanks for appreciating the beauty of the west and the realization of why we live here, work here, and play here!
