I got the most wonderful call at 5:20 this morning-School is canceled!
No age hides the joy of that call.
Warm up was happening and ice was a problem on the roads.
It also was a problem for our many ice sculptures! I looked out and we had "bleeding" ice sculptures on the deck. The coloring was sure to get on our shoes and dog paws, eventually ending up inside where it should not be.
They had to be moved. This called for immediate action. We loaded up a few plastic tubs and arranged the ice sculptures on the front garden.

Below are what inspired our ice sculptures in the first place. These came from motivated artists in Palmer who work hard to have color in their gardens all year long. They said their favorite were the ones made in balloons. We also enjoyed the balloons, along with soy milk box containers, soup cans and anything else that we emptied and filled with food coloring and water. This is recommended for all ages!
