Lots of brown bear activity in the park...

There has been a lot of brown bear activity and it is now assumed the couple run ins and select maulings may be the same sow and cubs. Our local biologist has now decided to hunt the family of bears so to avoid any more "dangerous situations"

With this being said, the idea of hunters in the park searching out a problem bear or two, we decided to hike ABOVE all salmon streams and above all park rangers and biologists with guns...:)who were looking to use them on this particular day.

The hike was beautiful up to The Dome, and we had sun most of the time. I was telling skip how much it reminded me of hiking in the West Highland Way in Scotland and I hope to have him experience those mountains sometime .

When you get up high and look down, we are again reminded what a big sprawling city anchorage actually is.
