This was the big test...Could Skip successfully come out of "retirement" and survive an ultimate Frisbee tournament. He had been training for the past 7 weeks and was feeling ready. We had an old teammate and friend from Bozeman, Julie K. staying here and she was playing on a rival team.
The dogs and I packed up both Sat. and Sunday for adventures on the sidelines. Stacey and I commiserated in "injury" mode as we cheered on our other halves. Luckily rain stayed away.
It was a blast getting reacquainted with the Frisbee community. Such great local folks and lots from out of state. Everyone enjoyed the costumes, cheers, heckling and spirit of the game. Oh yeah, and some folks got to experience a victory or two.
The pics display that Skip still has his skill and his athleticism, but a couple realizations came about for him.
1. He just does not run quite as fast as he used to.
2. His tolerance for all day tournament play is lower.
3. He seems to see a few more gray hairs on his head? :)
