Summer is here!

Summer has arrived and the weather has been incredible. We were just reminding ourselves why we live here...we get the desired extremes from all seasons...For example, summer (extended sunshine) winter- (extreme snowfalls).
Mtn Biking season is here and when we are not out exploring the miles and miles of single track bike trails, we are tending to our many garden beds on our property. It has to be one of our favorite activities, watching local plants thrive under natural conditions, relocating plants throughout the yard as they outgrow their original locations and sharing of plants between neighbors as we all love the change of scenery in our garden beds.

Our yard has always been a haven of shade until some trees were removed over the past two years. We now not only have a number of sunny beds, but we have a deck that is in the sun from morning coffee til after dinner! We just love that.

Geraniums, Blue bells, Starflowers, Primulas and Trollias have been thriving early, while our Lupine, Sweat peas, Lilly of the Valley and Lillies are waiting til a bit later in the season to explode.

Rock-scaping is Skips specialty!

AH- a sunny deck- new to us.
Such a joy!

A new ski fence out back, trying a new angle with these. I like it

Here is a new little bed made in an old fire pit. It has sweat peas and sun flowers, we will wait and see
We are not the only ones enjoying the new sunshine in our yard
Tired dogs are happy dogs
Jupe has done great recovering from her 9 weeks in a cast this winter due to the Achilles sever. She is doing a lot of on leash walking and we finally do not have to carry her up and down stairs...that is the best part of her healing, as our backs are recovering

Happy Summer and we are so excited for Anne and Roan to come explore our yard, our trails, and our great state. Everyone who reads this is invited! we have a bed for you!
