what is a spiritual blessing?

I was honored to part take in my first ever spiritual blessing as a "god parent"
Now without giving too much personal over the internet to strangers who do not need it, I will just say that I have been invited to join "Little Henry" in his life's journey and this invitation has filled me up with such joy and purpose.

On Sunday, family and friends gathered for a wonderful spiritual blessing. The process of this gathering was what defined the meaning. We had a gathering of diverse spiritual beliefs and that is what brought such meaning to the day. Everyone shared a part of themselves with and for Henry. All personal and religious beliefs aside, we were one for Henry. We held each other in a place of common belief , while coming from different places. This is a model worthy of all humankind.
It is not about what we say, what we do or who we are as individuals, it is about the oneness and connection of community. The meaning of shared truths, not identical beliefs.

This wonderful Spiritual Blessing showed we all have common threads of meaning and no matter what we practice, what we hold as ritual or what we say in words, we all share common truths.
